Psychic in the old west
bkoganbing10 August 2019
One of the stranger Bonanza episodes has both Hoss and Little Joe up in the high country tracking a cougar. They come across the unconscious Louise Sorel on the trail and she's brought back to the house to the care of Dr. Grandon Rhodes.

This is one strange girl who believes she is some kind of a voodoo princess and folks on the wagon train she's traveling with believe she is bringing all kinds of evil things upon them when she has a vision. They abandon her on the trail which was when the Cartwrights find her.

It all has to do with psychic phenomenon. Sorel is one strange girl. Notice the Cartwrights give her a wide berth in the romance department.

Not the best episode, but something different for a western.

Just because somebody's different

Which is more captivating the story or Mari, the strange one. I saw this when it first aired I loved it then still do. People can be so dangerous when afraid of anything different. I guess those wagon train people lacked a bible or forgot its teachings about gifts of the holy spirit. The gift of prophecy the gift of the discerning of spirits Great acting. Loose sorrel is so beautiful those fawns eyes and delicate beauty. In those days little was known or understood about clairvoyants. So the settlers weren't quite so wrong, but still. Her own parents turned against her. It takes Ben to straighten it out and help those to understand. One of the reasons why I have always loved this show. Another, to see mendecent hard working , principled, mannered and possess a fighting spirit to believe and do what they feel is right.
