Love Lost for Joe
1 January 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Joe's freshly back from the big city and already getting himself into trouble. He goes to Julia's Palace for a little bit of fun and sees a man slapping Julia and automatically gets into a fight. She immediately takes to him and invites him to dinner the next evening. Little Joe is immediately smitten.

Meanwhile, Ben and Julia attend a town meeting about getting a reliable sheriff for Virginia City. Money is a problem, but Julia Bulette has a lot of influence with the miners. She promises to take care of raising the money. She does this by selling a bottle of whiskey over and over and over.

Jean Millian is a bully who has his heart set on a romance with Julia, but Joe takes him down a few pegs and he now has it out for Joe.

Soon, Joe is in a romance with Julia, much to his father's disapproval. Joe compares her to her mother several times since they are both from New Orleans. She's quite a bit older than him, but he doesn't care. He'll kill Jean Millian before he gives up Julia.

Julia made up her mind not to see Joe until his father has a "talk" with her, basically telling her to keep away from her. After that, Julia starts a relationship with her. Ben becomes more and more worried. But while the town is worried about Julia's keeping the town dirty, Julia steps in to help save the town when an epidemic threatens to kill off it's citizens. Joe falls more in love with her and resents his father even more for his attitude. But Joe is in for a surprise when she tries to show him a different type of her.

This go from good to bad, then to good again. But just when everything is coming together, tragedy strikes. This is Little Joe's first love on the show. Love lost number 2. And yes, again through death.

Dead: Many from epidemic, 1 other. 1 questionable (they got someone at the end, but it doesn't say if he was killed or arrested).
