Goofs

After Sheriff Roy Coffee gives Ben, Hoss, and Adam the report on Sam Kirby's past, Ben picks it up again, glances at it, wads it up again, and then throws it in the fireplace. The crumpled paper falls short of the fire and can be seen between Hoss and Adam. Ben stares into the fire pretending to watch it burn, then after Kirby storms out Ben walks back over to where Hoss and Adam are still sitting, and the paper is gone. See more »

Quotes

Sam Kirby: Well, you wouldn't happen to have an easy job in a cool place, now would ya?
Joseph 'Little Joe' Cartwright: Yeah, but my brothers and I take all those. What else do you do?
Sam Kirby: Well, I've accidentally managed to break a horse or two in my day.
Joseph 'Little Joe' Cartwright: Yeah, well, we just happen to have one on hand.
Sam Kirby: Yeah, well, I was hoping you'd take my word for it.

Little Joe, the doubter
4 March 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Ben Cooper seems to play this type of character a lot. In this episode, his character is an angry kid who was wronged and wants to get even. He's a really nice guy, knows how to break horses, and is pretty charming. Yet we know from the very beginning that Sam helped rob a bank. As we get to know the man, we learn what makes him tick and act the way he does.

There is a scene in this episode that always bothers me. Little Joe walks up to see Sam being kind to a woman he has the hots for. Irrationally, he gets angry, and for what? Personally, I think that the truth should have come out and Ben should have taught Joe some manners himself! Unless she's promised to him, she can love on any man she wants and he can't do a thing about it! But, this is typical Little Joe temper for sure!
