Superb return to westerns

Warning: Spoilers
Great Bonanza return! I gave very poor scores (or none) to many shows in the previous season, mostly dealing with pretty-looking school teachers from back east trying to revolutionize the western way of life, yatta, yatta.

But this is Bonanza's new season, and it started out great:

-- Candy is a new character, great new addition. -- No teacher from "back east" so far. -- Even Little Joe was somewhat reined-in. -- There was even a humbled Indian, imagine that. This is a promising new season.

The Candy Man
bkoganbing9 March 2021
This episode introduces David Canary to the role of Candy Canaday to Bonanza. The circumstances have Lorne Greene recalled to active army duty and heading a company of local militia.

The mission has Greene and Michael Landon escorting Paiute prisoner Michael Forest to military prison. Among the Paiutes Forest has some legendary status and he's worshipped as a God by some of them.

Canary who has an army background proves most useful. So he stuck around most of the rest of the Bonanza series run and became the Ponderosa foreman.

Good character introduction.
