Ma Lassiter

This episode has Ben Cartwright acting as temporary sheriff of Virginia City with Sheriff Coffey laid up with a wound. The wound was gotten when outlaw mom Marie Windsor tries freeing her son Jack Chaplain who is scheduled to hang in five days. Failing that Windsor and her other fine specimen of American youth James Davidson start grabbing hostages threatening to kill one a day if her kid ain't freed.

It gets real personal when Michael Landon gets grabbed. With Dan Blocker leading a posse to find the Lassiter hideout Lorne Greene does his best to maintain law and order in the town which is panicking.

The episode is dominated by Marie Windsor a regular Ma Barker of the old west. She's one hate filled woman, the reason you should see this episode.
