The title is based on a popular 1970s TV and magazine ad campaign for National Airlines (now defunct). The ads featured a flight attendant ("stewardess") looking into the camera and stating their name, then saying "Fly me." The print ads used different women individually. The TV ads showed a series of women. {"I'm Donna. Fly me....I'm Pam. Fly me." etc.). The idea was that you'd get attentive, personalized service.
This is the first appearance of Vito Scotti as Romero. He played this same character in Season 2 "Assault On The Princess" (1976).
This installment has a very similar plot to Survival of the Fittest (1974) from The Six Million Dollar Man (1974).
This is the first appearance of Christopher Stone (Marlow) in the series. He would appear in later episodes throughout the series as Chris Williams, Jaime's love interest.
Romero's name is a tongue-in-cheek reference/parody of the name "Romeo", which humorously refers to any man who is somewhat "full of himself" and fancies himself quite the ladies' man.
