Magic overlaid with magic
VetteRanger29 December 2022
Gladys Kravitz treats Sam much more politely when a women's committee needs a new pigeon to head the entertainment committee for a hospital benefit. With only $50 to work with, she hires a broken down alcoholic magician to perform. After a couple of tricks to cut down on his drinking, she has to give his magic a boost at the show.

Seeing Elizabeth Montgomery in the sequined gown the picked as she substituted for the magician's assistant was a high point of the show. :-) Of course, when some of his tricks had unusual outcomes, Gladys Kravitz suspects Sam of more "unusual activity".

Things complicate when The Great Zeno is subsequently hired for a TV spot ...

Samantha And The Magician

Sam is chosen by the women's group to be chairman of the entertainment committee.

An OK episode. Sam finds an old drunken magician named The Great Zeno. He is played by Walter Burke, a very recognizable character actor in many TV shows around this time. He had a wrinkled face and raspy voice which made him stand out. Sam does the magic for him in an early scene to get his confidence back.
