Dylan's estranged mother, Iris, returns to Los Angles which resurrects old family hostilities for she doesn't trust Jack with handling Dylan's trust fund, as does Jim. Brandon continues gambling and splurges his winnings on skis and a new car stereo. Meanwhile, David and Steve meet with the eccentric Icon Records Company president Curtis Bray, who tells David that he will give him a recording deal only if he fires his personal manager Steve. Brenda spends the entire weekend in her bedroom moping about her lost relationship with Dylan, while dreaming evil dreams on doing physical harm to Kelly whom she unfairly blames for her and Dylan's breakup. Quotes

Steve Sanders: What's the problem?
David Silver: I've been trying to tell you all day. Bray wants to give me a recording deal, but... he wants to make some changes. Big changes.
Steve Sanders: Are you still worried about that? David, I told you, your music is the ticket. Whatever the catch is, say yes. If he wants to change your music, then you should argue with him about it and I'll help you any way I can.
David Silver: Steve, it's not the music that he wants to change. It's the personnel.
Steve Sanders: Huh?
David Silver: Curtis Bray will give me a recording deal... only if I ...

Parental Guidance Recommended (#3.20)

So Dylan's dad is trying to get his trust fund while Iris is trying to prevent it. The story is interesting. I just don't like they went for such an obvious way to make the father whom everyone dislikes the bad guy. And the good parent is some airhead who wants to open a school that teaches spirituality and believes into horoscopes...

And the fact that she doesn't like Kelly and prefers Brenda makes me a bit worried. If she is the one who is right they might use it to separate Dylan and Kelly.

The story about David I don't like too much. I really don't think it should be some way to push morality on viewers here. He absolutely should sign and in life friends would support it. It is not like Steve is a professional manager or that he even got into it just thinking of helping David.
