Storyline

The Walshes allow a young Latino girl named Karla Montez, (their maid Anna's niece) to use their address so she can attend West Beverly High School. Brandon becomes intrigued with Karla, but he suspects that she's hiding something due to her wariness and a strange man following her around. Later, when Jim arranges a party for one of his clients, Brandon causes a scene when he finds Karla at the party serving drinks and thinks she's being used as cheap labor. Written by Anonymous

East Side Story (#1.13)
24 October 2015 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Well, the good thing about this episode was definitely the trying ti figure out what all this mystery about Karla is. I kind of hoped though it would be more exciting. But they did well by basically letting us know that the "better education" story is not true and try to keep guessing what it might really be. I am glad though this character didn't stay longer. Oh my God was she annoying. If they tried to make some race awareness thing here, they sure failed as she was not making sense and was too full of herself.

The moments with David were fun, especially when at the end he ends up talking to Debbie Gibson. This was back in the old day when she was actually a pop star, so it was fun to see
