The great James Westerfield plays the conniving mayor of the city of Bug Tussle, who especially, Jed and Granny are fond of. His BIG SECRET is that he needs fast cash to cover all the town money he embezzled over the years! This was a running gag throughout the series as most every con man or woman wanted to get a hold of the Clampett's millions. Westerfield was an enormously popular actor, usually playing big winded characters with his booming voice and personality. He was in several classic films, dating back to the 1940s and one of the original producers at the legendary Greek Theatre in Hollywood. There's a hilarious scene as the mayor meets fellow con man Mr. Drysdale. Believe it or not, notes indicate that there are a few small towns named Bug Tussle across the US. Check out the mayor's fancy antique car as he arrives at the Clampett's estate.
