A Jersey couple Tony and Janet Morel are holidaying at a French campsite. Janet is brutally murdered and Tony (Michael Angelis) who had been out drinking finds her body.
The Morel's were popular in Jersey running a successful business as high end fish merchants.
However Tony's property is vandalised by youths, his van's brakes are tampered with. Tony is staying with Charlie Hungerford to get over his ordeal but Jim Bergerac's daughter is uneasy with Tony Morel being around.
Bergerac has been liaising with French Detective Inspector Dupont (Le Montague.) Both discover that Tony Morel has an unhealthy interest in long lens photography and he also has a murky past.
A strongly sinister episode with maybe a false opening to swerve suspicions. Dupont reckons Tony is a suspect in his wife's deaths. The Morel's housekeeper thought it was strange that a Catholic couple had no children. It is Bergerac's daughter who gives her father an important snippet of information.
