Storyline

With commander Adama still in bad shape and president Roslin in the brig colonel Saul Tigh assumes command. But he's having a hard time with the responsibility; the press and the Quorum of Twelve demand to see the president and on top of that he's getting sloppy with his regular duties. He wonders why Lee Adama is planning a rescue mission, until he tells him it's for the team on Kobol. On Kobol Crashdown is also having trouble with his leadership. The team finds out the Cylons are building an anti-aircraft battery that will crush any rescue attempt. He orders an attack that seems suicide. Meanwhile president Roslin has her own problems. She's deprived of chamalla and the effects are severe. Only barely able to function she gets a visit from Ellen Tigh. Written by Arnoud Tiele (imdb@tiele.nl)

Goofs

Dualla tells Tigh that all 12 members of the Quorum are on board, but Gaius is a member of the Quorum and is stranded on the surface of the planet with the other crew of the downed Raptor. However, since Gaius has been elevated to the level of Vice President, it is reasonable to assume that a new representative for Caprica has been selected for the Quorom. See more »

Baltar saves Cally!
4 November 2010 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

With Commander Adama still in a critical condition and the Quorum of Twelve and the press demanding to see President Roslin, who is still in the brig, Colonel Tigh is feeling the pressure of command. He is unsure what to do until his wife informs him that she has seen the president and she is clearly insane. This insanity is caused by her need for her medication that she hasn't had for some time because Dr. Cottle is busy with Adama. Things might not be going well for the people on Galactica but it is much worse for those stranded on Kobol. The five of them are up against a similar number of Cylons but unlike the Cylons they aren't trained for such missions. When they discover the Cylons are building an anti aircraft battery the inexperienced Lt. Crashdown decides that they will attack it despite Chief Tyrol, who is more experienced, advising against it. When the moment to attack comes Cally freezes and Crashdown takes drastic measures to try to force her into action…

This was another gripping episode, especially the action on Kobol. Sam Witwer put in a fine performance as Crashdown; an officer trying to do everything by the book when the situation called for them to withdraw to find a more realistic target. Nicki Clyne was great as Cally; she looked genuinely terrified in the confrontation with Crashdown and James Callis was good as Baltar, his character is really growing, he may still be self serving and untrustworthy but he will occasionally take a risk for somebody else.
