Quotes

Commissioner James Gordon: That's how we found him, scared as a rat in a cat convention. I've never seen anything like it.
Batman: You haven't been watching the sports channel.
Commissioner James Gordon: Sports? You mean those athletes. What's that got to do with...?
Batman: Put two and two together, Commissioner. That goon in there works for Leon "The Bookie". And word has it he's been taking it on the chin lately.
Commissioner James Gordon: You're telling me that that walking pile of straws scares the stuffing out of sports stars and then bets against their teams?

What If Our Brave Heroes Lost Their Nerve?

"The Professor Of Fear" a.k.a. "The Scarecrow," is the villain in this one, so you know it's going to be very interesting and colorful. He demonstrates what can happen if the headline above came true.

The "professor" has invented a powdery substance that when handled, produces abnormal fear in the person when his/her adrenalin starts pumping. He uses it on professional athletes with interesting results and Robin gets a "taste" of it, too. With the athletes, The Scarecrow is cleaning up with bookies, betting against these stars. One of the athletes is Robin's roommate so he, too, gets the power on his hands and now he's not helping Batman. Will he be cured?

This is another fun show with some nice artwork and direction and some incidental good moments like a quick glimpse at the other villains all in jail: The Joker, Poison Ivy, Two-Face, etc.

"The Scarecrow" is one of the more interesting characters on this show, I think.
