[Bullock's stalker is finally unmasked - his apartment super]
Det. Harvey Bullock: Nivens?
Nivens: Why wouldn't you move? Why wouldn't you get out?
Det. Harvey Bullock: You wrote me those letters?
Nivens: Do you have any idea what your apartment is worth these days?

The perfect showcase for Robert Costanzo

'A Bullet for Bullock' is another one I don't remember much from the show's broadcast days (hey, syndication played some more than others), but it turned out to be one of the best. Batman agrees to help Harvey Bullock after the portly detective receives death threats, and it's a fantastic spotlight on one of the other members of law enforcement; someone who proves oddly lovable for being so crotchety ("The detective who looks like an unmade bed?"). Even Montoya just shakes her head at his disastrous home life.

This episode strikes just thee right comic tone from the outset, with dime novel dialogue and a jazzy score. There's an entertaining oil-and- water chemistry between Bullock and Batman, and it's just a great time. I got a real kick outta this.
