AN END AT THE TOWER OF LONDON
asalerno1025 June 2022
Attempting to rescue Batgirl, Batman is trapped alongside her in the Fogg Place dungeon. The villains already know that the authorities have discovered them and plan to carry out their last big heist before emigrating to South America, it consists of stealing the Crown jewels. A good ending for this triple episode full of British elements.

At least Robin gets all the chicks

"The Bloody Tower" finds Lord Marmaduke Ffogg (Rudy Vallee) and Lady Penelope Peasoup (Glynis Johns) plotting to cap their criminal career by stealing the Crown Jewels from the Tower of Londinium, after Batman frees Batgirl from her chains in the Ffogg Place dungeon, Robin forced to escape from the clutching hands of Ffogg's faculty of curvy student bodies (Burt Ward really had to fake looking unhappy!). It's no surprise that our heroes get to the bloody tower before the bad guys, for a showdown breathtaking in its brevity, the precious fog making pipe finally running out of steam (the 'Pipe of Fog Bat Reverser' doing its job), Batgirl's presence sadly more pointless than usual. The whole thing ends with a phone call from LBJ, apparently following up on one that concluded "Dizzoner the Penguin." A brief appearance from Madge Blake as Aunt Harriet marked only her second during this third season, and her final one on the entire series (she passed away in 1969). Yvonne Craig admitted that working with the difficult egocentric Rudy Vallee proved to be 'three weeks in hell,' and so was the viewing experience!

ridiculous episodes with non-traditional villain
berkovich-7659231 July 2018
Why they thought to make this a 3-episode arc is beyond me or likely anyone. let's face facts: this series is/was best when Batman faced Joker, Riddler, Penguin and Catwoman, his traditional enemies. otherwise, the episodes suffer, albeit as a loyalist I watch. But 3 parts for this "Londinium' escapade? Ridiculous. Pretty much garbage.

Hit And Miss Episode...With Just Enough Hits

Warning: Spoilers
The end of this clunky three-parter set in London.

The budget for this episode looks so low as the 25 minutes keeps jumping from the cheap Bloody Tower set to the big gate outside the house. Only for hard core 1966 Batman fans (like me) as it is just all over the place with unfunny villains clowning around all the time.

To me atleast, it is worth watching for all the bits with Robin and the cute women together. I also like the memorable part where Batman almost finds the true identity of Batgirl. Nice to see Catwoman (Eartha Kitt) make a tiny appearance at the end. But that is it basically.

This three-parter should have been a two-parter or maybe even a single 25 minute adventure. Things pick up next week.
