Karate Kid baddie

Karate Kid baddie Martin Kove appears in this episode. I believe he is in another late 70s Barnaby episode. He is obviously typecast as a bad guy.

JR haters likely will not like this episode. Frankly I am not a hater of the JR and Betty episodes. Those episodes floated the show for a few years.

I wish they'd just let Jenny deal with her problems on her own.

Soon after the episode begins, JR's ex-girlfriend asks for JR's help with her sister who is a bit of a lost soul. Jenny apparently dropped out of school and her ambitions in life are going to parties and getting stoned. What she didn't realize was at the last party she went to, at the home of a rock star, she MIGHT have seen something she shouldn't have....a dead girl in the star's bedroom. But she only was in the room briefly and was stoned...so she thought nothing more of it. However, the star's handlers sure are interested....and want to find her and kill her just in case!

While this isn't a terrible episode, it suffers from one big problem...Jenny is an annoying and rather worthless person. It also didn't help that the actress didn't seem particularly good in this role. Regardless, it's watchable and not bad....but also not all that good either.

Screeching Jenny can't act

I really liked this show in the beginning when plots revolved around clients and not Betty and J. R. This episode features another annoying female character with a terrible voice (close to screaming every word) and worse acting skills. The plot was weak and the characters bland. It was also the negative depictions of marijuana that kept it illegal for so long. The only redeeming quality was the fact that Barnaby has a fairly large part and provided much needed relief from a ridiculous script. The fact that this great show was nearing it's end of run may have factored into weak writing and lack luster acting.
