When the story begins, a young woman (Pamela Franklin) is developing photos when she stumbles upon a burglar. The burglar throws acid in her face...blinding her!! But here's the weird part. Because of the acid, she should have looked like Dr. Phibes or Lon Chaney as The Phantom of the Opera.....instead, well, she looked pretty normal except she was blinded. Barnaby and especially Jedediah work to determine WHY this happened, as they suspect it was NOT because of a simple burglary gone bad...as he stole some film negatives.

This isn't a bad episode apart from the acid burns and the scene with the boobytrapped car as well as the suddenly being able to see just when she needs it scene. What are they? Well, Jedediah suspects his car has a bomb and instead of calling the police and their bomb squad, he pops open the hood of the car to look for the bomb...which, in many cases, would have triggered such a bomb! Also, when baddies arrive to kill the blinded lady, she suddenly is able to see just enough to allow her to make her escape and run! However, it is moderately interesting....even if Barnaby isn't all that involved with the episode.

Although no one has noted it, someone was having a LOT of fun in this episode. You see a letter in one scene with a postmark for 1979 on it. The $.03 stamp is a copy of an 1869 (though the color is different)!

By the way, if you watch this show you'll have no idea that Ms. Franklin is British....you cannot detect a trace of this accent.
