Mairead starts coming to Church and asking Father O'Connell for some advice about her singing. It isn't the music that she's interested in however. She desperately wants to join the raft race he's arranged but when her mother refuses to sign the permission slip, Mairead takes matters into her own hands. She does make a misstep however. Having decided to get married, Sean and Niamh now have to let everyone in town know. They start by telling Donal and Liam but asking them to keep quiet about it, figuring the word will spread like wildfire. Soon however, Sean is beginning to have second thoughts as he's not sure he can continue living in Ballykissangel. Liam and Donal decide to try and make a bit of money by plating the horses. They're quite successful, for a little while at least. Written by garykmcd
