President John Sheridan: All right, what's wrong now?
Michael Garibaldi: This is my analysis of the latest reports from the Rangers. We've had a major increase in attacks against shipping lines of Alliance worlds in the recent weeks.
President John Sheridan: Hit-and-run attacks, very efficient. No survivors, no warning.

Pretty tense and worth seeing despite Byron

Season five definitely was a notch or two below previous seasons of BABYLON 5--mostly because the exciting and cool evil forces were gone and there just didn't seem to be a lot of compelling drama. Fortunately, this episode kicks off a couple of these compelling subplots, though never exactly pay off well. The worst of these is the telepaths subplot, as after just a few episodes, I grew to hate the character "Byron". To me, he seemed like a Gothic romance hero or a vampire who doesn't want to kill but must--very formulaic and very whiny. But at least this episode kicks off a small altercation between his wimpy forces and the Alliance. As for the other subplot, this is much more exciting, as there is definitely something evil and amiss on Centauri Prime and for the first time, we get a tiny glimpse of this threat. Overall, this is an episode where there are no resolutions, though, just the foundations of future conflicts being established, so it's an important but not especially satisfying episode.
