An army pilot is attached to the Black Sheep squadron in an effort to allow him to be the top scoring ace against the Japanese. His directness and competitiveness soon leads him into conflict with the men he is flying with.
Did You Know?
One of the P-38's flown in this presentation was a former P-38M "Night Lightning," as can be seen by the double cockpit on the aircraft. The other P-38 had been modified from an air racing configuration and lacked a mocked-up Hispano M2(C) 20 mm cannon in its nose. It did have, however, mocked-up barrels for four Browning M2 .50 cal. machine guns in their correct locations. See more
US Army and US Air Force officers did not and do not wear their rank insignia on the right side of the overseas/flight cap. Nor do they wear BOS (Branch Of Service) insignia on the left side of that cap. Navy and Marine Corps officers do. See more
