What a good surprise

This TV show is really absolutely terrific. A true noir atmosphere all long the episodes. The whole of them. Here, no exception. The tale of a prizefighter played by a very convincing actor whom I have never heard about yet, who is set up by a bunch of gangsters - loan sharks - who want him to help them to pull a robbery. The perfect film noir scheme, written, as most of the épisodes of this show, by the Genius William R Burnett. Yes, the characterization is very poignant. The writers and producers seemed to emphasize on this emotional side for the characters. No really evil ones. Anti heroes for most of them. I also appreciate the two cops team, Bill Smith and Jack Warden. Such a shame this TV series was not longer than only fourteen - ? - episodes. It would have been great if there had been at least forty of them.
