Another wonderful episode of Arrested Development
21 January 2008 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

Storming the Castle is the ninth episode of Arrested Development, and along with the tenth, it is one of the funniest and best episodes. Storming the Castle is not to be forgotten: several classic moments of the show are here and the episode is very re-watchable. In it, Michael tries to become a more selfish character- he takes an office chair home despite his son's concerns that that's stealing, and he tries to steal GOB's girlfriend Marta. In the mean time, GOB is trying to get his failed magic career back on track.

The show finds humour in GOB's magic, both here and in the second season episode Sword of Destiny. Several of the jokes centre on how a magician must never reveal his trick- even Michael has a great line regarding this. On the side, Maeby tries to annoy her mother Lindsay by buying a leather outfit after Lindsay says killing cows is wrong; her plot doesn't really succeed. This is one of the sillier George Michael-Maeby story lines, but it's also sort of cute and leads to a couple funny Tobias jokes. Additionally, Buster is particularly funny in this episode, and Michael has some great reactions to him.
