- Vange: That is exactly what my story's about.
- Quinn: What, spoiled rich chicks?
- Vange: No, electronic stuff. Everybody's always using cell phones, laptop computers, electronic notebooks, and it's not just grownups either. Kids have pagers, calculators and games.
- [into Megan's phone]
- Vange: She'll call you back.
- [disconnects]
- Vange: We can't live without them.
- Megan: You are so eleven.
- Andy: Well, I don't use anything like that.
- Vange: Oh, yeah? What about the alarm on that big old watch of yours?
- Andy: Well, sure, every morning.
- Vange: Duh! Then a computer chip is telling *you* when to wake up, isn't that weird?
- Vange: If we need computers *so* bad, and they're getting smarter all the time, does that mean people are getting dumber? My story's about a bunch of kids who use computers. They think they're all pretty smart, but what they don't know is their computers are really using THEM.
