Yep, it's time for some Hide & Shriek (obvious pun, I know).

Brothers Jack (Adam Bonneau) and Kenny (Michael Alexander Jackson) have just moved to a new neighbourhood and are approached by some of the local kids to see if they're brave enough to play a game of hide and seek. What's so scary about this game? Well, it's not just about trying to win the game. It's about not being caught by the dreaded Old Man Corcoran (David Francis).

This is a distinctly average tale from The Midnight Society. It's not bad, but it's not that great either. In fact, considering the potential to make the hide & seek extra spooky, it's a bit of a disappointment.

Everyone does okay in the acting department. It's the script and execution of the material that disappoints. It just feels a bit flat.

The script by Scott Peters gets everything across that viewers need to, but it's no fun. Worse than that, it's not that spooky either. Be fun or be spooky, but don't waste our time being neither.

The direction by Ron Oliver is pretty standard, which leaves this episode languishing in the land of the average.
