Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: [Lofty races his horse as though the Devil is at his heels, all the way back into town, throws himself off his horse to dismount, and runs into Annie's kitchen] I remembered, Annie. I was way out in Bear Canyon and, all of a sudden, I remembered.
Annie Oakley: Remembered what?
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: That today was the day you promised to bake those chocolate walnut cookies for me.
Annie Oakley: [She loosens his hand that has scooped up at least five of the gourmet delights] Not for you, Lofty, they're for Tagg.
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Annie! No, Annie, I think you're spoiling that kid brother of yours.
Annie Oakley: And I'm not spoiling you, is that it?
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: You couldn't spoil me. Well, I strive for attention, affection and, ah, your delicious cookies.
Annie Oakley: All right, you may have two.
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Only two?
Annie Oakley: You don't want to spoil that waistline of yours.
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: [He breathes in, raises his shoulders, his chest puffs out and he shows off a slim waistline] Why, Annie, I'm positively skinny. Like a mosquito.
Annie Oakley: It looks more like a honeybee to me.
Deputy Sheriff Lofty Craig: Honeybee? Your honeybee?
