Trivia

The sounds of the man in the basement chopping off his fingers were done by Foley artists chopping vegetables. In fact, they sound much more like carrots or cabbage than human fingers. See more »

Goofs

Spike is supposed to be non-corporeal, however he hits ground whenever he falls to the basement. He later tells the Reaper he has figured out that reality bends to desire, allowing him to fight, but it is unlikely that he desired to hit the ground while falling. See more »

Quotes

Lorne: [on the phone] Stop crying, stop crying. It's OK if you've put on a couple of pounds since casting. They can't just... no, no, just put the pills down. I'll straighten this out; if I can't, I'll take a handful myself.

Is this the part where I say "Who's there?" and something creepy happens?

Is this the part where I say "Who's there?" and something creepy happens? - ANGEL is a dark, horror show but when it comes to horror episodes I think that it didn't have enough of those, so this episode was a hoot seeing as it had almost everything that makes horror, horror. It had lots of blood, disturbing images, lots of nakkidness (Amy in the shower and James getting stripped) and plenty of jumpy moments. Seeing as I don't usually like the 'Spike' character and think that he brings down the episodes he's in, I found myself actually liking him in this one, which I guess is a good thing. The episode is also one of the goriest episodes of the show, the teaser has a creepy guy with cuts all over his face cutting off his fingers, other pretty disturbing moments were the sweet lady without arms asking 'Spike' to hold her, the woman with a piece of glass in her eye and the medium that got killed by Payvayne and threw up blood on 'Fred's face. The episode ends with 'Payvayne' made solid and ending up in his own private hell in W&H. It's a pretty dark episode that made me like 'Spike' even for just a little while. SPIKE: Never much for small talk, were you? Always too busy trying to perfect that brooding block-of-wood mystique. God, I love that. ANGEL: Not as much as I loved your nonstop yammering. SPIKE: The way you always had to be the big swingy, swaggerin' around, barkin' orders... ANGEL: Never listening... SPIKE: Always interrupting... ANGEL: And your hair. What color do they call that, radioactive? (9.5 out of 10)
