Storyline

Andy agrees to help the pretty new county nurse, Mary Simpson, talk farmer Rafe Hollister into taking his tetanus shot. Rafe is a hard working man who, he says, has never been sick and has never had to see a doctor. Mary had promised her bosses that she would have a 100% success rate in inoculations, so getting Rafe on board is important to her. It's important for Andy as well as he quite likes Mary and would like to see more of her. They do finally get Rafe on board, but in reviewing her list, she realizes that there is one other individual who hasn't had his shot yet: Barney! Written by garykmcd

Trivia

Andy still wears the cast that he got from bringing in the Gordon Boys in the previous episode. The real-life reason has been debated for years, but it is believed that, in reality, Griffith got a sprained wrist when he got angry on the set and put his hand through a wall. See more »

Goofs

In the opening scene, there's a blank space in the lower left corner of the bulletin board with police notices overlapping everywhere else. After Mary leaves, a flyer appears in the blank space, not overlapping any of the other notices. See more »

Quotes

Barney Fife: You know, it's a good thing she ain't campaignin' for folks to get their eyes examined.
Andy Taylor: How's that?
Barney Fife: One kiss on your jaw and we'd all be wearin' glasses.
Andy Taylor: Oh, now, come on, Barney. I mean...
Barney Fife: If she ever kissed you on the mouth, we'd all have to have our appendix taken out.
Andy Taylor: You're a nut.
Barney Fife: Well, you're a dear.
