Storyline

Emmett's brother-in-law Ben Beecham comes for a visit and Emmett is having a bit of a hard time with it all. Ben has the gift of the gab and had a very successful career as an insurance salesman. He keeps telling Emmett that he should give up the fix-it shop and try his hand at insurance. Emmett's wife urges him on so he reluctantly put up a closed sign on the shop and tries his hand at selling. He's not very good at it and he's not very happy doing it. When he disappears for a whole day, his wife Martha gets worried however and asks Andy for help locating him. Written by garykmcd

Trivia

Martha Clark introduces Goober to her brother (Ben Beecham, at 03:49 on the DVD) as "Goober Pyle". This is the first time Goober is said to have the same surname as his cousin Gomer Pyle. The end credits only list "George Lindsey as Goober" and the only previous time his surname was mentioned was when Andy introduced him to the TV writer as "Goober Beasley" in "TV or not TV" (3/1/1965).
