Andy Griffith and Don Knotts will reprise the judo demonstration in the epilogue in an Griffith's series 'Matlock.'
The basic plot premise of this installment- a major The Andy Griffith Show "milquetoast" character (here it is Barney Fife) taking drastic & unusual measures to avoid a town bully who has threatened him- would be re-worked and recycled into Season 8's "Howard's Main Event" (with the bullied character being Howard Sprague instead of Barney.) Interestingly enough, although the bullies in the two shows are completely different characters, they are in both cases portrayed by the same actor- Allan Melvin.
As Andy enters the Mount Pilot Judo School, actor Kent McCord is clearly seen wearing a dark gray sweatsuit, leaning up against the divider screen upstage center-right. It's a non-speaking part, and McCord is not listed in the list of cast members.
