Not great....which makes it much better than average for this series.

Sid Caesar plays Lou, a has-been magician who has lost it. He now sucks and is rather pathetic when he tries to perform his tricks. He's so bad that he's fired--and he clearly deserves to be fired! Oddly, however, when he's not working and eating in a diner, he's terrific and entertains the customers with his insanely good magic skills. What gives?! Later, when he finds another job doing magic, he once again sucks. But, when he whips out a deck of magic cards, REAL magic soon begins--and Lou has no idea what's going on but he's happy to run with it!

So is this any good? Well, it is nice to see Sid Caesar. However, the card tricks are too impossible and too ridiculous to make much sense--and that does harm the episode. If the show had been handled with a bit more subtlety it would have worked MUCH better. Still, considering how many early episodes of "Amazing Stories" really sucked, it's nice to see one that is at least reasonably entertaining.
