A Chinese official who's a friend of Jameson comes to New York to locate three men who during the war approached him and offered him money for secrets about Mao. Which he refused. But now it appears the incident is being investigated and he needs to find one of them to verify his innocence. He asks Jameson to help him find them but he wants it done quietly because it seems that there are elements who want him convicted, so Jameson asks Peter Parker to talk to someone in the military to find them discretely. But it seems one of those elements is an industrialist who is among the ones being considered to build a power plant in China that's worth a billion dollars, and the industrialist knows that the official is considering another company but if he's convicted he knows that his successor will award the contract to him. So he sends someone to make sure he doesn't find his witnesses or make sure he doesn't return to China alive. Written by rcs0411@yahoo.com

Spiderman In Hong Kong
29 November 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The final episode of The Amazing Spiderman is entitled "The Chinese Web" is a two-hour long special. What happens here is that the Daily Bugle's editor Mr. Jameson's old college friend is fleeing to Hong Kong who happens to be the Minister of Industrial Development to clear his name of the accusations against him of being a former spy back in World War II.Peter Parker tries to help to prove this man's innocence.A wealthy American industrialist plots to block its success to secure a large steel contract.

After only 16 episodes,we now come to the final episode of The Amazing Spiderman.Despite its good ratings,a CBS executive did not find it good to renew its contract for he decided that being a "superhero" station won't look good on the network.Anyway,at least we get to see Spiderman in another country - Hong Kong - to help another person from suffering from injustice. The story started really good especially with the presence of Rosalind Chao, who portrayed as the Minister's daughter.Too bad that she and Peter are developing a romance but the show was about to end anyway that one does not really add up to the excitement of Peter now having a love interest.
