WHY was this show axed
23 April 2007 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

Was truly crushed when I read this was going to be the last episode of this truly amazing series. Not once did this show produce a bad episode. How many series can say this about their first season?? We get to see Cathy and Matt to share a kiss, a real fan pleaser only for their relationship to go askew later, left unresolved. This episode later saw several prominent Newcomers dying from what appeared to be a genetically manufactured weapon. The tension between Matt and George was great viewing as George receives a promotion to Detective 2! The story progressed, we got a look into the Purist Front's headquarters and their hatred for the Newcomers. The casting for this is typical Alien Nation, always spot on. 'Ms Purist', Brant, the leader of the organisation is excellent in her role. The scene near the end of this is heartbreaking as George's family are infected and it is left wide open for a follow up only to be canceled. This series had all the stories, actors and premises to be one of the longest running and greatest series of all time. In my opinion still is, even after one season and five bloody good movies. Thank the powers that be for the excellent 'Dark Horizon' follow up to this brilliant episode...
