Pagey Fisher is a deaf bitter young boy from a rich family, who blames his father for his hearing loss as well as his mother's death. At an airport, Pagey witness aging mob hitman Charley killing an acquaintance, Buzzy Carelli. Pagey can read lips and realizes that Charley is on the same flight as he and his caring tutor Martha. During the flight, Pagey watches the in-flight movie, Conan the Barbarian, until Charley falls a sleep and then pick pockets him. He takes Charley's switchblade and I.D. and blackmails him to kill his father or he'll report him. Charley is at first shocked and thinks about killing the kid but his softer side prevails and he plays along while simultaneously trying to convince the kid to give up on his demand even though the kid simply won't budge. Once his father returns the end game begins. However, Charley...

I thought that was Joaquin Phoenix!
6 May 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I was channel surfing, and I started watching this episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents on the Chiller Channel. Anyway, I saw this little boy acting as one of the leads. I kept thinking he looked so familiar... His eyes looked just like Joaquin Phoenix' eyes. So I searched the episode's title, and it turned out to be Joaquin Phoenix after all. Pretty cool! He really did a pretty good job at acting back in the mid-eighties! He effectively demonstrated a cunning, manipulative and clever character who was deaf. He even cried well. I didn't know he acted as a child. I know his brother River was already established by the mid-eighties, but I didn't know Joaquin was acting then too. He did a find job in this episode.
