***SPOILERS*** For 12 long years Munro Dean, George Mitchell, has been trying to track down his wife's killer and has gone through 40 detective agencies in doing it. Now sure then he found him he gets in touch with #41 private detective William Tyre, James Franciscus, to do a job for him. Whack Otto, Jack Weston, the book and record store owner whom he's positive murdered his wife. This , killing a man, is something that Tyre never expected to do and,in fear of going to the electric chair if he did, never will no matter how much Dean pays him to do it.

Tyre feeling that it's far better to get the two men, Dean & Otto, to meet at his hotel room #305 at the Bayshore Hotel and smooth out their differences Otto, who doesn't know that Dean would be there, goes along with the idea. With Tyre now out of the loop he still feels he has to know how the meeting went and decides to pay the two, Otto & Dean, a visit before the blood starts flowing. It's then in room #305 that Tyre is in for the surprise of his life in what he sees going on there.

***SPOILERS*** It's in room #305 that Tyre finally got to know if what Dean told him was the honest truth: Did Otto in fact murder his wife! But what he also got to know was the circumstances behind Dean's wife's murder. As well why Dean was so certain that Otto murdered her. But most shocking of all why Dean wanted Otto whacked and it wasn't for murdering his wife! It was to keep him quite in not letting out just who hired Otto to murder her!
