A fairly good drama

Gary Merrill gives here an poignant performance as a journalist who tells his chief - Jay C Flippen - that one of his friends is dying from an incurable disease. (Sorry but I did not get the name of this disease.) This disease lets to anyone about two years to live. Merrill has a son in his twenties whom he tries to succeed in life. So you wonder who is going to die; Merrill or his son?

All the episode lies on this question...

One day, Merrill tells his supervisor that he has decided to take a long vacation with his son. Aboard a sailor. The newspaper staff wonder all along what's going to happen. They guess that the vacation will end after the two years...

I won't spoil any further, but a touching story.
