Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore
8 July 2010 | by (Earth) – See all my reviews

After the downing death of her daughter, poor Anna Lee (as Helen) seems "more dead than alive." Mostly, she just sits in a chair, with a blankly pained expression on her mute face. She won't even sob, and husband Philip Bourneuf (as Carl Mason) is told Ms. Lee will soon die from grief. Meanwhile, in a neighboring town, twelve-year-old Reba Waters (as Laurie) miraculously recovers from scarlet fever. But, upon awakening, she doesn't recognize parents Phyllis Hill and Ross Elliott (as Phyllis and George Warren). She exclaims, "Let me go!" and runs away to the Masons. Lee senses the return of her daughter and recovers; although, Ms. Waters doesn't look like the same girl. So, young Waters now has the mind of "Alice Mason" in the body of "Laurie Warren".

This suggests an interesting question - which family should get to keep Waters?
