While Metropolis gears up to honor its most popular "citizen" during Superman Week, gangster Si Horten (Herbert Vigran) tries to figure out a way to rid the town of the Man of Steel. Taking reporter Jimmy Olsen (Jack Larson) into his confidence, Horten gives Jimmy a milkshake laced with truth serum, whereupon the boy reveals the location of some hidden Kryptonite--the only substance that can render Superman helpless. Meanwhile, the ever-suspicious Lois Lane (Noel Neill) eagerly anticipates the awkward situation awaiting Clark Kent (George Reeves), who has been assigned to interview Superman on TV. 'Naked City' & Other Surprises
17 July 2006 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Another entertaining episode in season three as Jimmy Olsen (who else?) is caught pretending to be a telephone repairman (with fake mustache), is given a truth serum by the crooks, and spills the beans about kryptonite. So, the bad guys get a hold of the kryptonite, find out Superman's schedule (it was printed in the paper as part of "Superman Week"), and then greet him with it, supposedly killing him so that they can go on a crime spree not worrying bout the Man of Steel catching them. The rest, you'll have to see.

What was interesting was that one the crooks, the flunky of the two, was played by Paul Burke, who went on to star in TV series, "The Naked City." The other is played by Herb Vigin, not a name you know but a face you'll recognize as a regular "bad guy" in the show. In one scene, his clothes change color in a matter of seconds. I guess they came back and shot the footage the next day and forgot what color clothes he was wearing!

Once again, there are a million holes in this story like that one, but it's fun to watch.
