Storyline

Lois Lane decides to employ private detective Homer Garrity to find out once and for all if Clark Kent is Superman. At the same time, a blackmailer is trying to kill Garrity, whose life is saved by Superman. Both Garrity and Lois are taken prisoner by the blackmailer. Jimmy Olsen decides to pick up the trail of Lois and Garrity while simultaneously trying to live up to the image of a glamorous private eye. Eventually, the lives of Jimmy, Lois and Garrity are endangered. Clark, in the meantime, picks up the trail. But it will take the powers of Superman to save his friends in time. Goofs

Jimmy falls through a trap door in the floor that's constructed from two rectangular pieces of wood that swing open in the center and the person standing on it falls down. Later when Superman rescues him he rips the trap door off from the floor but when he does it's one big square piece not two smaller rectangular ones like before. See more »

Jimmy Strikes Again
4 February 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This episode belongs to Jimmy Olson. When Superman saves a PI, played by the wonderful Elisha Cook, Jimmy wants to emulate him; that is until he actually meets him. He has none of the stereotypical qualities like the Bogart characters. When the detective and Lois get themselves captured, Jimmy goes to the rescue, but gets himself handcuffed to a bed frame and ultimately locked in a basement where gas is being pumped. He bungles everything, trying to be the epitome of the Dashiell Hammett type of gumshoe. Of course, Superman rears his head again. How he does it is the gist of this offering. Nevertheless, it was great fun to see Jimmy strut his stuff as he pretends to be this character.
