The comic books being sold by the news vendor include Batman #66 (August 1951), Action Comics #160 (September 1951), Superman #72 (September 1951), Detective Comics #175 (September 1951), Joe Palooka #60 (September 1951), Mr. District Attorney #23 (September 1951), World's Finest #54 (October 1951) and Mutt and Jeff #54 (October-November 1951).
Madame Selena kidnaps men who are about 5-foot-8-inches, and weigh about 150 pounds. Apparently, the part of one of the kidnap victims was originally written with Jack Larson (Jimmy Olsen) in mind, he is 5-foot-7-inches, and appears to weigh about 150. But, due to budget constrictions, Jack Larson did not appear in all the shows, and did not appear in this one. So, the part of the kidnap victim was re-assigned to John Hamilton (Perry White), even though he is taller at about 5-foot-11-inches, and heavier at about 200 pounds.
This is the only episode in which semi-regular Robert Shayne is credited with the guest cast instead of with the main cast (he's usually the fifth billed cast member).
The scene where Inspector Henderson called Clark Kent, and woke him up in the middle of the night with news of Perry White, was taken from "The Secret of Superman" episode when Jimmy Olsen's mother called Clark at 1a.m., stating Jimmy wasn't home yet.
