Poor Rinty steps in a trap but before he can be prey for a mountain lion a man on horseback shoots the cat, frees Rinty from the trap, and sets his leg. Masters and Rusty arrive in time to thank the stranger who moves on.

Six weeks later Rinty has recovered. Two bounty hunters arrive looking for the man whose name is Ben Culver and he is wanted for murder with a $10,000 price on his head. Masters won't tell them anything but he and Rusty head out looking for Culver who happens to be a doctor.

When scouting off a high rock, Masters falls. Rusty heads out looking for Culver but the bounty hunters are behind him. When Rusty finds Cullver, his first thought is to run. Shields and Kane target the doc but Shields doesn't want to share the reward so he shoots Kane in the back. But before he can shoot the Doc and Rusty, Rin Tin Tin to the rescue. Doc Culver has Shields covered now but suddenly Kane moves and shoots Shields. Culver saves Masters and decides to turn himself in, but Masters promises a fair trial. Fade out.

A pretty violent episode by today's standards but kids of our generation didn't blink. What was interesting was Shields was played by Jack Elam who was his laconic somewhat bearded best. Pure evil. Even then his acting stood out from the rest.
