Little Pete has been betrayed by his own Dad.
kfo949426 January 2015
In the first part of this two part story, it seems that the parents of Wellsville has had enough of the super hero, Artie. The group, led by John McFlemp, has had enough of Artie influencing their children by games that are played and using words with different meanings. So now the parents want him out of town. But they have to convince one more person of their dirty deed and they will be able to move forward. The person in question is Dad, Don Wrigley.

So behind Little Pete's back, Dad tells Artie that little Pete does not want him around anymore and that it is time to leave. With a broken heart, Artie lets Dad drive him out of town to start a new life. The parents seem to have won.

Also in the same story, Little Pete is have a problem with this bully named Papercut. Papercut has the ability to make sharp instruments out of paper and he seems to rule the his turf since all the kids are afraid of him. But when Little Pete beats him at a game of 'Rock-Paper-Scissors', Artie is there to save the day. Papercut tells Pete that he would have him if he did not have someone that always came to his rescue. Now Pete is feeling low and wants to fight his own battles instead of being saved by Artie each time.

This episode is quite moving. All kids grow up and leave toys of youth behind. But Little Pete and Artie are best friends and Pete is not ready to lose his friendship. And what may hurt more is that he has been betrayed by his own Dad. As we get ready for the second part of the episode, Little Pete may have to face Papercut on his own without his super hero for the very first time. On to part two!
