An episode that will be remembered long after viewing.
23 January 2015 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This is one of those episodes that, after seeing, will stick in your memory every time you hear anything connect with the show of 'Pete and Pete'. Even if you have watched the entire collection or just a few shows, because of the way this episode was written you will remember fondly 'Day of the Dot'.

It all begins when the Wellsville Marching Band, also known as the Squids, is picked for competition in a championship. The almost paranoid band director, Mr Markle, had lost the competition a long time ago and now is determine for the fighting squids to lead him to the top. But on the team there is going to have to be a change of attitude. No longer will the band be fun, it is going to be a rough and tough time as the band gets ready for the contest. And when Mr Markle picks Ellen to be the dot in the word 'Squid', Ellen gets caught up in the world that Mr Markle has invented. And big Pete may lose the only girl in the world he cares about.

Not to be outdone, another story has the weird bus driver, Stu Benedict, on a 'Woe-is-me' trip all because he has lost his love, bus driver Sally Knorp. Instead of dropping off kids at their home, Stu rides around town talking about where Sally and him use to be seen together. It turns into a sad and deranged ride as Stu holds the kids, almost like prisoners, as they listen to his upturned life. But little Pete has a plan that will hopefully end this long and disturbing ride.

An entertaining episode that is bound to please most everyone in the bunch. And even years from watching, anytime someone mentions the word 'squid' the viewer will have fond memories of a certain band in a certain town --and smile. Good watch.
