Despite having killed two of the burglars in the warehouse shootout, Malloy and Reed finish out their patrol shift without being taken back to the station and relieved of field duty as LAPD policy dictates, pending an internal affairs investigation.
After Reed and Malloy talk to the man with the dogs, they talk about being on the lookout for a red convertible. A red convertible passes them on their left shortly thereafter and they take no action.
At the end of the shootout, when Malloy empties the bullets from his revolver it looks like 3 spent shell casings and 3 unspent shells. Reed later asks him if he knew his gun was empty and Malloy says he did. However, Malloy took no more than four shots during the shootout.
When Sgt. MacDonald is reading off the car plan during roll call, there are two "1-Adam-27" cars. The first one is "27: Garcia and Edwards" and the second is "27: Baldwin and King."
When Malloy is talking to Jerry Walters outside the warehouse he calls him Bill - the name of the actor, William Stevens.
