Storyline

When an old man wearing a strange-looking belt is found dead of natural causes, fraud is suspected and the case is turned over to major frauds division. Investigation leads to a Dr. Gantman, whose useless treatment of a blind seven-year-old girl with a pituitary tumor is preventing its timely surgical removal. A break comes when a television repairman, who makes "electro-charged oscillator belts" for the doctor, is arrested for bookmaking and is willing to testify against him. The bookie isn't needed after a courtroom demonstration by the doctor, and participation by the prosecution, results in the doctor's undoing. Written by bobbymaxwell

Trivia

In the opening titles the Adam-12 patrol car is cruising at night and then makes a U-turn, but the call that is always heard from the dispatcher, that should have led to the U-turn, never happens. (The theme music then continues for several extra measures, as if filling in the time lost by the omission of the dispatcher's call.) Perhaps the change was meant as a subtle acknowledgment that, in essence, this installment is not a "real" Adam-12 episode but is material salvaged from a pilot for another series. See more »
