Trivia

Cate says something about Paul looking for his socks before going to the shop. At the end of Part 2 Cate finds the socks under a pillow, where they form a figure 8. See more »

Goofs

Throughout the first half of the episode, several of the characters (Rory, Cate, etc.) mention that Paul was going to the store to buy milk and that is when he collapsed. When Cate comes into the girls' room to change at the end of the episode, Kerry says that he saw that they were out of batteries and that was the intention of the store trip. While it is possible that he was going for both milk AND batteries, it seems unlikely due to the nature of the dialogue that is used, and is more likely an unintentional error. See more »

Quotes

Bridget Hennessy: Is Dad with them?
Kerry Hennessy: No.

Too sad... I will... not... cry!
14 October 2006 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

8 Simple Rules was canceled after the tragic and sudden death of the shows dad John Ritter. But they decided to bring it back! I was sitting down watching TV with my parents and this came on. I thought to myself, "I thought this was canceled?" (Not that I was happy about it) Then I saw that they were doing a Paul's death episode and they were gonna continue. I am not very emotional, but this changed it. A tear appeared on my face and I quickly wiped it off. Then a couple days ago, I saw it again. My mom doesn't like this episode, she says its too sad. We just kept watching it and my eyes got watery. I hid my face so she wouldn't see that it got to me. It is still a good episode though! But very sad.
