- The cast shows their singing skills as the express their feelings about Valentine's Day. Simon starts dating another gal. The twins celebrate their birthday.
- The spirit of Valentine's touches each family member in a different way and causes them to break into song. Eric and the boys decide to surprise Annie with breakfast in bed for Valentine's Day. Ruthie is not happy about Valentine's Day because Vincent has not called her in three days. And it seems everyone at school has a Valentine's but her including Martin who is approached by a new girl and Vincent who she sees walking down the hall with another girl. Eric leaves dishes in the sink and red socks in with the white clothes load as he takes the boys to school and then heads to work. Annie and Eric disagree about which of them love Erics red socks. Eric promises alone time over a picnic basket from the French Bakery. Simon is with a new girl, Anna (Pronounced On-na), whom he met the night before and they both think it is love at first sight. They decide to spend the day in Glenoak since neither have classes for the day. Kevin is headed back to work and Lucy is not happy that he picked Valentine's Day as his first day back. Eric calls Annie to apologize for leaving the dishes, ruining the whites and arguing about his red socks. He goes to get the picnic basket but is too late and finds the French Bakery is closed. Annie tells Lucy she should not fight with Kevin for going back to work. Annie is not happy with the work Eric left at home so goes off to get supplies for the twins birthday cake. Ruthie yells at Vincent for not calling but he wants to know why she has not called. Ruthie confronts him about the girl in the hall then walks off with another boy she does not even know. Annie sees Simon and Anna kissing in the Promenade. When Simon goes to the bookstore, Annie goes over and tells Anna that Simon has been dating a lot this year. Annie encourages Anna not to do anything with Simon she might regret later. Anna finds out Simon was with Cecelia and Georgia and decides they should head back to school so she can study. Ruthie watches Martin practice baseball while missing easy plays because of flirting with the new girl. Vincent stops by and tells Ruthie to accentuate the positive which ends with them kissing and making plans to talk later in the evening. It seems Martin's new found reputation is what attracted the new girl. He agrees to hang out and talk with her but nothing more. Captain Michaels welcomes Kevin back and points out how important Valentine's might be to Lucy. Annie suggests a smile, kiss and apology is all Lucy needs to give to Kevin for Valentine's. Then Annie lets Lucy know she will be watching the boys during her night with Eric. Kevin tries to order roses but no florist in town has any flowers available. Simon is resolved to spend Valentine's night alone until Anna shows up to pick up where they left off. Martin breaks the news that he is not the man of his reputation and is only interested in a non-sexual relationship, which is okay with the new girl. Vincent stops by to surprise Ruthie with roses he cut from his mother's garden. After Vincent leaves, Kevin walks in and offers Ruthie $100 for the roses. She gladly accepts the offer. Kevin gives the roses to an apologetic Lucy who presents him with cupcakes and asks him to clean up the kitchen for her. The twins share that all the Valentine's and birthday treats gave them a stomach ache. Eric and Annie share peanut butter, jelly and potato chip sandwiches for their romantic dinner. Annie shares with Eric that she buys red socks every Valentine's because he wore them for the first dinner they had together. The red socks told her he was not the straight laced seminary student she was afraid he would be and was what made her know he was the one.
