A list with all the names of The 4400 and their current location has leaked out. The department of Homeland Security tries its best to stop the list from getting dispersed, but the damage is already done. A bomb is placed in the house of Richard and Lily and that's not the only one. All returnees are in danger and agents Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris must find out who is behind the attacks. Self-proclaimed 4400's spokesman Jordan Collier has his own solution. He invites all of The 4400 to move to his housing complex, protected and closed off from the rest of the world. Meanwhile Baldwin's son seems to have quite a lot of trouble adjusting after he awakened from his coma. Dennis Ryland, Homeland Security director, has his own problem. Agent Warren Lytell comes over from Washington and he's got permission to practically take over the investigation of The 4400. Written by Arnoud Tiele (

Did You Know?

Nikki Hudson: This is the spot?
Shawn Farrell: Yeah. Me and 4,399 of my closest friends popped out of a ball of light right about here.
Nikki Hudson: It's so pretty. I wonder why they sent you back here. I mean, why not on the White House lawn, or... in the middle of Times Square?
Shawn Farrell: I don't know. Maybe they appreciate a good view.

Trial by Fire (#1.4)
16 June 2012 | by (Canada) – See all my reviews

The show steadily moves on in a very good way. In this episode we have idiots who like to perform self justice and watch shows like that of Barbara Yates (or Nancy Grace and whatever else we have these days) bomb the 4400.

I like how Dennis Ryland dealt with Barbara Yates. At first I also thought that he will bribe her, but I loved how it ended up him just passing her the message that she is finished. Wonderful!

The story of Kyle is very intriguing at this point. The performance by Chad Faut is outstanding and they really keep one on the edge wondering what it is all about.
