***SPOILER ALERT*** Odious depiction of male aggression.
25 June 2013 | by (Dublin, Ireland) – See all my reviews

I absolutely hated this episode.

It fed into every prejudice about male aggression. The hyper aggression affected only the men in the complex. The women were wholly unaffected. As in, well men are borderline psycho anyway, while women are totally non aggressive.

It was cartoon-like in its depiction of the two genders - the men overtly aggressive, the women cowering from the prowling male psychosis. It was insulting to men in its portrayal of them as, without exception (apart from the doctor who managed to subdue his natural male aggression with injection of sedatives), overtly aggressive. And equally so of women as cowering victims.

And yes, I'm very aware that it's only a TV show. Yet, if I can relish one show, I can hate another. This episode, of an otherwise fine show, was the latter for me.
