What a brilliantly written episode.

When Bill wakes up to find she's in bed with the biker, and Rona has become a nun, it's quite clear that something is wrong.

If ever there was a snapshot of what like was like for the average family in 1992, this was it. Bill was unemployed, at a time where the Country was definitely still struggling, Challenge Anneka was watched by millions, even causing mayhem for Bill.

I wonder how many people associated with the scene where Bill had to go and sign on, funny though it was, that was a reality for many people.

Warning: Spoilers
A very funny start to series 2, with lots of gags and of-the-time references.

The opening scene, when Bill "wakes up" next to the biker in bed, then goes downstairs to fund David in possession of a shotgun & Rona arriving dressed as a nun sets off the comedy and it's pretty non-stop from there.

Rona & Bill reading Just Seventeen is just as funny, as is Christine turning the tables on the snotty client by revealing an in-depth knowledge of contemporary furniture.

At this point the biker is still unnamed, though in the news report of his death they do finally call him Angelo. However, the credits still say Angel, which seems as big a hint as anyone could wish for. His death being so recent though doesn't really account for the apparent telepathy of an earlier episode or the occasion when Bill saw him on a TV screen that didn't appear to be working (or if it was, he was somehow looking directly at her). So the hints of something magical or supernatural are never really followed through, which seems a shame.

Still, the show is as funny as ever & it's great to see more of the Porters. This series feels like where it really began to hit its stride, even though series one was great.
