24 is smart, dense and detailed, possibly more than any other TV show
ever made. Proof? This is the penultimate episode of Day 2, and there's
so much going on it could end in a million different ways.
Having ascertained Kingsley's involvement in the creation of the Cyprus tape, Jack decides to bring in Alex Hewitt and Sherry Palmer for questioning. Unfortunately Alex freaks out, runs away and is killed before he can provide any useful information. Meanwhile, back at CTU, Tony and Michelle are placed under arrest for what they did to Ryan Chappelle, while at the same time Mike Novick realizes he might have made the wrong decision supporting Jim Prescott on the war issue.
Everyone betrays everyone, allegiances shift within minutes, and the only person one can trust to always do the right thing is Jack. Even now, despite the fact he flat-lined a few hours earlier, there's no stopping him, and there's no stopping the show either: the end is near, but the season still keeps running at an enviable pace, ensuring every possible resource is employed to give the audience the well deserved thrills they have asked for. And there's only one hour left after this - anything can, and probably will, happen.

As dawn breaks over Los Angeles, Sherry survives the stabbing and
Hewitt is killed when Jack's shot to his leg leads to a fatal fall.
Jack then realizes that he must persuade Sherry to help him get
evidence against Kingsley. Things go awry at CTU when Division becomes
suspicious of Chappelle's absence. Carrie calls in Brad Hammond and
Tony is taken into custody. Michelle goes off-site to work with Jack
and before she is apprehended manages to set Jack up with Hewitt's
voice-manipulating program so that Jack could fool Kingsley that Hewitt
is still alive. Jack has Sherry call Kingsley to negotiate an exchange
Hewitt for any evidence Kingsley has linking Sherry to the
conspiracy. While en-route to the meeting point, Jack, suffering chest
pains crashes the car.
In summary, here the events that happened during that hour:
1.Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler are arrested for knocking Ryan Chappelle unconscious and assisting Jack Bauer.
2.Kate Warner picks up Kim Bauer from the Matheson residence. Removed from office, David Palmer secretly has his lawyer research Peter Kingsley.
3.Jack Bauer plans to use Sherry Palmer to incriminate Kingsley.
4.Sherry calls Kingsley and offers to deliver Alex Hewitt to him at a special meeting place.
5.Jack's heart condition intensifies, resulting in his SUV crashing into the reservoir.
It's almost over.We get to find out who is involved in the conspiracy.Things are getting clearer. And finally,we get to find out who are the people behind the nuclear crisis in Los Angeles and who are in cahoots with one another before the final episode.Definitely, this is a better season of 24 as compared to the previous one.
